There exist several venues around the world featuring avatars, that is, intelligent agents from the Metaverse can finally take human shape and interact with humans from the real world. The technology used to create those avatars is unlike anything ever seen to date : their bodies look and feel realistic. From museums to nightclubs, these venues benefit immensely from the avatars’ presence.
One such venue is called the Organic Club, in Kingston, Ontario. Over a thousand individuals regularly dance and enjoy themselves while in the company of their human friends or others from the world beyond.
On a faithful Saturday night, Clyde decided to check out the place with a few of his friends, having in mind to take some time off some of the stress he felt at work.
He was not prepared for what he witnessed that night, a beauty unlike anything he had ever seen singing in the main concert hall, weaving through the hordes of people looking for someone in particular.
He was persuaded she had been looking for him all along when their eyes met. She smiled and slowly walked in his direction while continuing to sing for everyone to hear. When she finished her piece, the DJ put on another song for everyone to enjoy, and she just stood there, intent on talking to Clyde.
“Hey,” Clyde said.
